The tourmaline is arguably one of the most exciting minerals in existence due to its variety of colors. Not only can it take on virtually any hue, but the fact that crystals usually display multiple colors in a wide range of combinations makes it a versatile and popular collector's mineral. For example, there are tourmalines with a unique red-green color combination. Clear crystals are also frequently cut.
