Rhodizite and Londonite are very rare minerals that crystallize in the cubic crystal system with high hardness (Mohs=8-8.5) and together with Touretite (a new mineral!) form the Rhodizite group. They belong to the megaborates and range in color from colorless to vibrant yellow. Differentiation is only possible chemically; Rhodizite primarily contains potassium, while Londonite contains cesium. Previously often milky transparent, clear to crystal-clear crystals have recently been found. The crystals are sensitive to acid and light (!). Rhodizite / Londonite are found not only in Russia but also in Madagascar, sometimes in very attractive paragenesis with tourmaline (Liddicoatite).
