This needle-shaped, mostly water-clear apatite has all head faces and a perfect vitreous luster. However, it shows many natural nicks and a few inclusions.

Mineralogically, apatite is a group of various minerals. The most common representative is fluorapatite, a fluorine-containing calcium phosphate that forms opaque to clear, hexagonal crystals in various colors (colorless, yellow, pink, green, purple, blue, brown). It has a medium hardness (Mohs = 5) and, depending on the color, a distinct pleochroism.
