Hibonites are already very rare. They are usually offered as single crystals. Here is one of the few specimens on matrix that we were able to acquire.

Hibonite is a very rare mineral, specifically a CaAl oxide, which may also contain cerium, titanium, and magnesium, as well as traces of uranium or thorium (slightly radioactive). The mineral has also been found in several meteorites. The mostly black (sometimes brown), hexagonal crystals possess a very high hardness (Mohs = 7.5-8).
