Aquamarine

Aquamarines are the blue variety of Beryl, a cyclic beryllium aluminum silicate that crystallizes in the hexagonal crystal structure. The color palette ranges from pale turquoise blue to navy blue (rare) to green, with a smooth transition to yellow Heliodor. Due to its high hardness and the partially crystal-clear crystals, Aquamarine is also very popular in the jewelry industry.

Andalakamorana is located about 40 km southwest of Antsirabé in the Betafo District in the Manapa pegmatite field.
