Rhodizite and Londonite are very rare minerals of high hardness that crystallize in the cubic crystal system (Mohs=8-8.5) and together form the Rhodizite group. They belong to the Megaborates and have a colorless to bright yellow color. A distinction is only possible chemically; Rhodizite contains predominantly Potassium and Londonite contains Cesium. Previously often milky transparent, clear to crystal clear crystals have recently been found. The crystals are sensitive to acid and light (!). In addition to locations in Russia, Rhodizite / Londonite can only be found in Madagascar, sometimes in very attractive paragenesis with Tourmaline (Liddicoatite).
