This slightly ovoid crystal with good color has beautiful faces; Good translucency on the top, with inclusions and some Braunite  adhesion on the bottom.

The orange to dark red Spessartites from Loliondo are usually picked up loosely by the locals. They are rarely recovered (and offered) with the loose matrix. The crystals usually show the icositetrahedron, more rarely the rhombic dodecahedron. Hematite inclusions are responsible for a red color. Other inclusions include Braunite, Muscovite, Quartz and Zircon.
