We managed to purchase a small but excellent lot of Imperial Topaz of this location: almost all of the crystals have an excellent shine, a perfect top and only a few inclusions. Here is a small but almost water-clear Topaz with excellent end faces and perfect luster. Note: The quality of the crystal is better in person than shown in the photos.

Imperial topazes were first discovered in Minas Gerais in Brazil and later also in Russia. They got their name because they were popular with the tsars for the crown jewels. While Russian Topazes are pink to purple in color, imperial Topazes from other countries (Pakistan, USA, Zambia) have a golden yellow, orange to light brown color.
